Attraction

It's interesting to see what people accept as attractive. Obviously, everyone has different tastes, but I find in even when talking with a group of friends about women we almost always choose the same girls as the most attractive. Call me a pig, but my friends and I often play the "Which one" game in which whenever a group of women pass by us we choose which one is the most attractive (in all actuality it is which one you'd sleep with if you had to pick one without any further information, but the other way sounds more PC). Almost every instance the game is called upon, which happens well over 20 times in a Friday night out in Dinkytown, everyone seems to come to the same conclusion. It's funny to see how culture tells us what we should find attractive, and what we should be searching for to be accepted even within groups of people who already like us. I've also played a similar ranking game that wasn't spoken out communally until after we had decided and turns out we all had many different tastes, we just know what we're supposed to say when it does end up communally decided.
The media portrays a certain body type and look as proper, which in turn gets pressed upon both people trying to emulate it and what people are looking out for. In the same way women are given docile bodies trying to keep up men are given the same ideals of what sort of woman to associate with. We do have the agency to decide whether or not to go along with it, but if we don't go along with it we become ostracized and weird, giving us few options.
